All VisionQuests flow in the Structure and Swim in the Chaos of being carried to, being taken to and being gifted with VISION…. being carried to, being taken to, being gifted with GUIDES, TOTEMS, ALLIES, SPIRITS…. being carried by, being taken to, being gifted by the Ancients, the Ancestors, the Spirits…. All VisionQuests flow in the Structure and Swim in the Chaos of the 7 Directions…. East…. South…. West…. North…. Mother Earth…. Father Sky…. Miskowasin (All My Relations – the ONE)…. And of the 4 Elements…. Fire…. Earth…. Water…. Air…. In 1998, Red Bear (Kevin Dubrow LCSW) led his first VisionQuest for adolescents in Illinois. With the amazing experience this was for all questors, he led VisionQuests in Illinois for adolescents in 1999 and 2000 and VisionQuests for adults in 1999 and 2000. In 2001, he led his first VisionQuest in Sedona, Arizona. VisionQuests in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006 in Sedona, Arizona followed. He will lead his next Sedona, Arizona VisionQuests in May 2007. The Sedona VisionQuests are for adults, young adults and mature older adolescents. Each VisionQuest is unique… no two are ever the same! Red Bear’s Soul Mate, Desert Lizard White Owl Crone Women (Nancy Heraty) co-guides the quests. Desert Lizard is a Yoga Teacher and instructor, a ceramic artist and a ceramic art teacher. All VisionQuests include Hatha Yoga led by Desert Lizard. Rites-of-Passage VisionQuests guide boys to become Men and girls to become Women. For the Rite-of-Passage VisionQuests, Red Bear and Desert Lizard call on the assistance of other guides including Loving Flowing Dolphin (Daryl Mortensen, a high school chemistry and physics teacher) and Sitting Wolf with Bright Vulture (Tom Undine MSW, social worker). Rites of Passage VisionQuests can be three days or four days. Shamanic VisionQuests guide questors to be carried to, taken to and gifted with Vision. Red Bear and Desert Lizard guide these four day VisionQuests; other guides are utilized as needed. The next VisionQuest will be in Sedona, Arizona in May 2007. A limited number of questors is taken for each VisionQuest. The May 2007 VisionQuest dates are not scheduled but will begin on a Thursday Night and go to early morning on Monday. The Sedona VisionQuest fee is $850 and this includes lodging, meals and all materials (it does not include air or ground transportation to Sedona. Rites of Passage VisionQuests can be set up for your school, college, organization, agency or group. The Rites of Passage VisionQuests guiding boys to being Men (Men Warriors and Lovers…to Self and Soul) and girls to being Women (Women Warriors and Lovers….to Self and Soul) Can be set up for teenagers or for young adults or for adults or for a mix of ages. Shamanic VisionQuests can also be set up for your school, college, organization, agency or group. Shamanic VisionQuests guide one to being carried to, taken to, gifted with Visions…. with Guides…. to Emptying, Healing, Transformation and Transcendence. Individual VisionQuests in Sedona, Arizona where you are the only questor with Red Bear and Desert Lizard as guides, are also available. Every VisionQuest is different. Every VisionQuest is its own unique experience. Every VisionQuest is centered, rooted, grounded and swims in sacred rituals and ceremonies. Every VisionQuest is honoring and respectful of each questor (each questor’s mind, body, psyche, Self and Soul) and all of Nature. IMPORTANT NOTE: For all VisionQuests, there is a careful screening process to make sure those seeking to be on a quest are ready able and appropriate, and those chosen to be questors on a VisionQuest will benefit from the experience and add to the whole experience for everyone on the VisionQuest. There is also serious preparation and work that questors must do to get ready for a VisionQuest. The health and safety of each questor is what determines who attends the VisionQuest and experiences on the VisionQuest. A final note: Truly a VisionQuest experience can’t be put into words…. it must be experienced. On all the VisionQuests Red Bear has guided every questor has had a life changing and transformational experience. The VisionQuests’ sacred rituals and ceremonies are immersed, surrounded and centered in deep humility, deep gratitude and appreciation, deep honoring and respect , deep beauty, and ever deepening trust and faith. The VisionQuests that Red Bear and Desert Lizard guide have been inspired by the quests and great wisdom of many indigenous peoples from around the Earth Mother, but especially Native American tribes and clans of the Midwest and Southwest.
